| WMATA Board Proposal for Fare Increase
The Board of Directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has approved a series of public hearings on a proposed fare increase which could potentially take effect as early as January 6, 2008. The purpose of these public hearings is to provide information and to obtain comments from the public. The District Department of Transportation encourages all residents of the District of Columbia to participate in these important hearings.
